EKOWMANIA & THE RHYTHMERS is a Berlin-based band uniting musicians from Ghana, Brazil, and France in a vibrant blend of Afrobeat, Highlife, and contemporary grooves. The group is led by Ghanaian percussionist and vocalist Ekow Alabi Savage, a veteran of the international music scene who has shared the stage with Fela Kuti, Tony Allen, Manu Dibango, Ziggy Marley, and Ebo Taylor. Ghana has a rich tradition of blending African rhythms with jazz, funk and international pop, and THE RHYTHMERS continue this tradition in present-day Berlin. In addition to EKOWMANIA, the band features a rotating cast of vocalists, including Frank Karikari, Djatou Touré and Nick Morrison in performances that include both original compositions and distinctive takes on Afrobeat and Highlife classics.
